Friday Feature

August 6, 2009

This week, we’d like to highlight the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. They started as a fund for the families of those who died in the service, but have changed their focus recently, when the government stepped up and increased the benefits to close to where they should be. So the Fishers (yes the Fishers of Fisher House) and the Board of Trustees shifted their focus. and in only 16 months, the fund built the Physical Rehab center called Center for the Intrepid at Brooks Army Medical Center in San Antonio. Now they are concentrating on building a center for TBI injuries, National Intrepid Center of Excellence, located in Bethesda Md.

This group is quietly making a HUGE difference in the recoveries of our wounded and their families. They combine their efforts here with Fisher House and do a great job for all. So – if you can, they still need to raise some of the money for the Bethesda TBI facility.
