We are doing puppies again – but this time, it is America’s VetDogs – the Veteran’s K9Corps- a new program from the venerable Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind.  These dogs are trained and supplied for both blind veterans, and for those that have other disabilities.  One of the wounded featured on the site uses his Golden Retriever to help him with balance issues, after losing a leg.   They even sent Therapy Dogs downrange to Combat Stress Control Units!  The pictures of dogs doing what dogs do so well, comforting a soldier – well, I started sniffling!   For your consideration – please think about donating to VetDogs.  If you know a vet who might be eligible for a dog – please go here.

Helping those who have served our country honorably to live with dignity and independence whether they are visually impaired or have other special needs, by using guide dogs, service dogs, and innovative technologies.

    Looks like a wonderful program!

I work with a program, Guide Dogs of the Desert, located in southern California, also just recently graduated their first class of all veterans.
