baghdad pup

One of our authors lost her dear friend Pokey this week. In Pokey’s memory we are featuring Baghdad Pups.  The photograph here is a picture of Charlie, the first Baghdad pup helped by this  group,  set up by SPCA International, to help bring home the dogs and cats that have been adopted by service members in Iraq and Afghanistan. It may be against regs to befriend this animals, but it’s hard to resist a puppy or kitten in need.  To contemplate leaving one behind in a War Zone – impossible.   So Baghdad Pups helps get through the paperwork, the vaccinations, the logistics of bringing these buddies home.

Look at your own dog, or cat, and then think of leaving them in a war zone – then in memory of Pokey, please be generous.
